The DZZJ6 Highway Traffic Meteorological Observation Station is designed to meet the specifications set by the China Meteorological Administration for highway traffic meteorological observation. It caters specifically to the needs of meteorological monitoring in the highway sector, featuring high precision, stability, low maintenance requirements, low power consumption, expandability, and real-time remote monitoring capabilities.

Built on embedded system technology, the station consists of hardware and software components. The hardware includes a data collector, sensors, solar power supply units, wireless data transmission modules, and peripheral devices such as brackets, enclosures, and lightning protection systems. The software comprises data collection applications and networking solutions for the central station.

This station automatically measures key meteorological factors, including road surface conditions, visibility, subgrade temperature, wind direction, wind speed, temperature, humidity, and rainfall, thereby fulfilling the requirements for traffic meteorological information and related services. Furthermore, it allows users to adjust the measurement parameters by adding or removing modules as needed through a bus system.

Road Surface Condition

Accurately distinguishes among five road surface conditions: dry, wet, flooded, icy, and snowy. It can measure the thickness of water films, ice layers, and snow layers.

To address the common lack of grid electricity along highways, the traffic station’s power system is primarily solar-powered, with an AC220V grid interface available for backup. Designed with redundancy in mind, it ensures reliable operation in extreme weather conditions—such as high temperatures, low temperatures, and prolonged rainy periods—allowing the station to function continuously for 14 days without grid or solar power.

The central station networking software enables the automatic networking and monitoring of highway traffic meteorological observation stations within a specific area. Each automatic station along the highway connects bidirectionally to the monitoring center via fiber optic cables or GPRS wireless communication, facilitating effective networking and management of the traffic meteorological observation stations.
